A bit about me..
For most of my teens and early twenties, I lived completely disconnected from my body. I numbed myself with alcohol, overworked, overtrained, under-ate, ignored my intuition and pushed through exhaustion.
At 22, I was diagnosed with IBS from chronic stress.
I had no period for six years and was told that was “normal.”
My body was speaking to me. I just didn’t know how to listen.
Finding yoga at my local bar was the first time I truly felt what mind–body connection meant.
But even well into my yoga journey, after a painful breakup, I still detached from my feelings and used travelling to mask my emotions.
I found breathwork, began my mindfulness journey of being kinder and more compassionate to myself, and eventually started to understand how soma (the body) and psyche (the mind) really worked together.
Over time, my physical symptoms softened. My relationship with food, movement and rest transformed. And I learned that even after thinking I have the answers or solutions, there is a soft rhythm I can return to again and again.
Now I share from a place of understanding from learning the hard way.
