Power of morning routine

When I wake up ‘on the wrong side of the bed’ in the morning, or I wake up late, or I slept badly, there are so many voices in my head telling me ‘todays going to be a bad day’.
Did you know the story we consistently tell ourselves is what our brain believes?
So if you tell yourself that it’s going to be a bad day just because you had a little less sleep than you would have liked then PROBABLY you’re going to be snappier with your boss, have an argument with your partner, miss the bus etc.
But if you take control of your day right from the moment you open your eyes, the negative self talk doesn’t even get a chance to have a say.
Moving your body, stretching, playing, reading, simply being still with your breath, feeling sunlight on your face.
Any of these simple tools can turn what would have been a day reacting negatively towards all of the external hiccups along the road to a more accepting and open mind of the day to come.
Your bosses email doesn’t seem so bad, that comment your partner made is laughed off, the car that overtook you on the road is probably going to the hospital to be with their wife giving birth!
So give yourself a little time in the morning before the world starts to unfold to enjoy your moments.
And see where it takes you in the day to come.
